FaffCon 4 Registration

Please read the info below for an overview on how FaffCon’s application and registration process works, and for the current terms and conditions that apply.

How to Register:

1. Complete the application form

    • Once registration opens, this process will include a form allowing you to detail your professional credentials.  FaffCon is about working voice actors – If you haven’t yet started your voiceover career, FaffCon, unfortunately, isn’t going to be right for you.  The form is confidential and the questions aren’t meant as an interrogation, rather they provide the committee basic background to ensure that FaffCon delivers for everyone.

2. FaffCon committee will confirm your application credentials. 

    • The FaffCon committee will check your application to ensure that you are likely to both benefit from and contribute to FaffCon – as an actively working voiceover professional.

3. Registration Approval. 

    • The moment the committee gives your application the nod, you will be sent a link and a password to a page on the FaffCon site, which will allow you to securely complete registration.

4. Pay, complete registration and confirm travel plans. 

    • Your registration is not complete until you’ve remitted your registration fee. You should be taken to the payment gateway when you submit your registration form, but sometimes things go wrong with the software (Event Espresso). If you’re not asked for payment, please let us know.  To finalize your registration, the fee of $259 USD must be tendered.  Upon payment clearance, you’re good to go and will become a confirmed member of FaffCon.
    • You will receive email confirmation and a receipt. Please hold off making any travel arrangements until you receive this confirmation and allow us 72 hours to complete this step.

Registration Includes

Event Program

    • Full participation in the event, including your choice of Topic Sessions running on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Field Trip and Dinner

    • A well-loved FaffCon tradition, the FaffCon Friday Field Trip & Dinner,  is an opportunity to get to know your fellow-Faffers, network, learn and generally hang out with colleagues and friends, both old and new! (Don’t forget to check out the Field Trip page for details!)

Food

    • Yummy snacks will be made available throughout the event to keep you focused and participating.  Catered lunches are included on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

 

Note

    • FaffCon requires payment at the time of registration – after your application is approved. Your application is not complete until the payment is cleared and your place at the event cannot not be held awaiting payment clearance.
    • Payments can be made by credit and debit cards or via PayPal. These forms of payments are generally immediate and will not hold up your application.
    • Personal check (cheque for UK / Australia!) or PayPal “e-Check” can take 3-5 days to clear and will delay the completion of your application. The Standby List

    • Part of what makes FaffCon so great is the limit of 100 hand-picked participants.  Participation is only available to working VO professionals and all spots fill rapidly.  However, if your internet access was down due to solar flares and honey badgers  – and you missed registration – there’s still hope…and the waiting list.
    • It IS worthwhile getting on the waiting list as lucky people will make it off the list and into the event where registrations are cancelled due to breaking of fingernails, winning lotto, or, in some luckier cases – landing that amazing gazillion hour narration gig.
    • The waiting list shouldn’t be your first option so don’t dawdle with your registration, thinking “I’ll get around to it later”.  The event will sell out rapidly!

Special Needs

    • FaffCon participants with a disability or impairment who would like to request accommodation may use the special needs request section of the FaffCon registration form, or may send a confidential email to <http://www.privatedaddy.com/?q=a01sHW9gcwV8DRR1QXlJR1FCMQ-3D-3D_19>. We strive to do everything we can to make all Faffers feel welcome. Please note that there may be an additional cost to the participant for some special need accommodations.

Photography & Recording

    • Because all presentations and associated materials are each speakers’ intellectual property, please refrain from recording Topic Sessions in any medium.  Participants may not make a recording of any session in which they are not physically present, even with the speaker’s approval.  FaffCon reserves the right to record and photograph participants for the express purpose of promoting future FaffCon events.
    • Recording for any other commercial purpose is strictly forbidden.

Disclaimer of Liability

    • By registering for FaffCon, you acknowledge that you are participating in FaffCon as your own free and intentional act and you hereby agree to hold FaffCon, its sponsors, its volunteers, Amy Snively, and anyone acting as her agent, harmless and indemnify them wholly and severally for any injury that you may suffer or damage that you may cause and give this acknowledgment freely and knowingly, assuming responsibility for your own well-being.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

If you need to cancel your registration and there is a qualified and available person on the waiting list, your registration fees will be refunded in full (less PayPal fees, if any) as soon as their registration payment clears. Otherwise:

    • Refunds less a $25.00 cancellation fee will be given for cancellations received in writing to <http://www.privatedaddy.com/?q=eEVyNHp1ZwJrCxU1YnBFZhZ9Ww0QAW5lR1FCMQ-3D-3D_19> prior to midnight (Pacific) January 23, 2012.
    • From January 23rd until midnight (Pacific) February 23rd, 2012, your refund amount will be 50% of your registration fee.
    • After that date, we regret that we are unable to offer refunds due to financial obligations guaranteed by Amy’s personal credit card, however a credit will be issued to apply to any future FaffCon event within one year.

You may also transfer your registration to any working professional voiceover talent qualified to attend FaffCon at no additional charge at any time.
